ABSTRACT

“High-Power Piezoelectrics for Practical Applications” is devoted particularly to actual high-power piezo-device developers, since I disclosed a sort of know-how from the company executive viewpoint. We will discuss on the subsidiary (but sometimes more important) items in this chapter in order to commercialize practical high-power piezoelectric components from the device designing viewpoints, in particular multilayer (ML) piezoelectric devices. Three items are described below: (1) cracking in long ML actuators, (2) surface area/volume ratio vs. heat generation, and (3) internal electrode materials.
