ABSTRACT
When evaluating the impact of new legislations relevant for food safety, it is important to consider that a constant character of these legislations is that, although they enter into force within a few weeks from their publication in Official Journal, normally they become applicable only after a certain period (e.g. a couple of years) from their entry into force to provide the time required for the market and institutional transformations imposed by the new Regulations.
