ABSTRACT
This chapter describes features that are related to the first systems engineer attribute, namely, “synthesizer”. This is followed by an important task of the synthesizer which is to architect a system in question. The notion of an architecture is explained as are ten aspects of the integration process. Other synthesis perspectives are briefly discussed. The chapter is completed with a citation of an illustrative cost-effectiveness analysis.
