ABSTRACT

This chapter begins with the manager at the project level, as part of the manager/leader attribute discussion in Chapter 6. This is followed by the UK perspective on this matter and the ISO/IEC standard in relation to project management. Typical problems faced by the project manager are then cited as are the equations for a standard Earned Value Analysis (EVA). An insight into agile project management is provided followed by a brief exploration of the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator. Features of the DoD program manager are presented, followed by various aspects of the meaning of leadership from several points of view.
