ABSTRACT
This book deals with the challenges of climate change and discourses the role of climate change mitigation and adaptation policies in addressing challenges through implementing sustainable development goals. The theoretical background of economic measures to address climate change is provided with the focus of GHG emission trading schemes. Climate change adaptation issue are discussed by providing the most important threats of climate change for developing world countries and actions necessary to adapt to climate change in various parts of the world. This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book introduces concept of sustainable development by highlighting the sustainable development goals and linkages between climate change and sustainable development challenges.
