ABSTRACT

Climate change is one of our biggest environmental, social, and economic threats in today’s world. The main greenhouse gas emission sources are the combustion of fossil fuels in electricity generation, transport, industry and domestic sectors, changes in agriculture and land use, landfilling, and the use of industrial fluorinated gases. The key task now is to complete to organise the set of implementing rules for the agreement that will ensure that all countries contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, climate change mitigation policies in these countries need to be incorporated into the national sustainable development strategies, and their implementation should not hinder the sustainable development goals. Even if policies and efforts to reduce emissions are successful, some climate change is inevitable. In order to adapt to climate change, rapid recovery and costs reduction actions need to be taken.
