ABSTRACT
Pyrotechnic ammunitions are required to be identified during manufacture, proof, sentencing of proved lots, despatch of lots in packed boxes/crates to depots, storage of packed boxes/crates at depots and during use. In addition, ammunition lots are required to be linked to the corresponding inspection documents. Stamping or marking, painting and marking, packing and storage of pyrotechnic ammunitions, therefore, are important activities. This chapter highlights the role of stamping or marking of components, role of painting and marking of ammunitions, role of packages, role of package painting and marking, storage of ammunition packages, defects in painting and marking of ammunitions and package. References are provided at the end of the chapter.
