ABSTRACT
Controlling unruly mobs, anti-insurgent activities and rescue operations requires resources that help incapacitate the person. Riot control ammunitions are very useful in this aspect. These devices/ammunitions have riot contol compositions or plastic pellets/rubber balls or flash and bang composition for riot control. These are considered as less lethal devices/ammunitions as they do not kill a person. Riot devices/ammunition may be divided into grenades, cartridges, fin-stabilised projectiles, heavy calibre projectiles and other devices. These are mostly of bore size 37 mm, 38 mm, 40 mm and 60 mm though even higher calibres are also available. This chapter provides some typical grenades, cartridges, fin-stabilised projectiles, heavy calibre ammunitions and other riot devices. References are at the end of the chapter.
