ABSTRACT
Business continuity and disaster recovery plans benefit from careful communications plans. Disaster recovery plans frequently have directions to the recovery facility, emergency authorization for the purchase of tickets, and hotel accommodations. Not all organizations need a disaster recovery plan, depending upon how they structure their business continuity plan – which depends upon the nature of the business. The disaster recovery plan is designed to bring back IT managed systems and services in the event of a disaster. There are different kinds of disasters and planning for each is a lot of work. The common thing to do is to plan for the kinds of results of each. Pandemics are a particular kind of disaster in so far as the infrastructure remains operational; however, the people who maintain that infrastructure will no longer be permitted to go to the locations where they need to operate for a period of time.
