ABSTRACT

Conversations with governmental health ministers and thought leaders around the world have convinced us that nations large and small are interested in reconstructing their healthcare ecosystem with the help of technology. The country has begun focusing on upscaling its digital health programs with a government mandate to exchange medical data among all care providers. Many of the nations have launched major digital health initiatives to address seemingly intractable problems, including the urgent need to make patient care more effective, more easily available, and more affordable. The Dutch government is also investing in blockchain technology to provide its healthcare providers and citizens with a secure digital ledger system that allows them to securely communicate with one another, called Mijn Zorg Log. In a time in history where we’ve seen polarization and increasing social stress, the digital reconstruction of healthcare transcends politics and economics.
