ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a brief overview of the global scenario, using China, Italy, and the United States as examples. Issues and challenges of data analytics regarding pandemics like COVID-19 are also presented in this chapter with mitigation strategies that can be implemented. Recommendations for citizens, patients, and healthcare professionals are also suggested to overcome COVID-19. Finally, this chapter concludes with open research and practical issues of COVID-19 control and the future outlook to minimize the spread rate of COVID-19.
