ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overview of the most important features which dictate water resources availability and management of each sub-basin, including topography, climate, rainfall runoff and major water users. The climate of the Blue Nile river basin varies significantly between the headwaters in the highlands of Ethiopia and its confluence with the White Nile River at Khartoum in Sudan.
