Bias is your mind using shortcuts. They are difficult to overcome even when you know about them.
Many biases are quicker to apply than thinking a problem through. They also seem to make your life easier. The problem with bias is that you are not seeing reality and not reacting to facts. So, while using bias is quicker, it also runs the risk of danger or massive misunderstandings.
