ABSTRACT

Maintenance work is subject to the same quality issues as production work and a few unique contributors as well. In maintenance, there can be quality defects in craftsmanship and materials. Also, there are potential issues in identifying and then troubleshooting the original problem (doing an excellent job to the wrong equipment).

The work of the supervisor is to make sure people have everything they need to do a job properly. The second thing is for the supervisor to pay close attention to the people (looking for fatigue, sickness, preoccupation). The nexus of quality is the supervisor.
