ABSTRACT
Mechanics is a branch of science dealing with the state of bodies – at rest, in motion or resulting in deformation when acted upon by a force system. An object at rest remains at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. Rounding off is a very confusing topic. Following basic customary rules for rounding off numbers is recommended to avoid confusion. Fixed support resists translation in both orthogonal directions and the rotation. Link support applies reaction force along the axis of the link. A beam is a major structural member in engineering. In engineering, structural members are designed in such a way that the structure can resist the applied loading or the effect of loading with reasonable serviceability, economy and safety for its design life.
