ABSTRACT

After secondary recovery, typically only around 30% of the oil in the reservoir has been recovered, and around 70% remains in the reservoir, which is the target of the EOR to increase the recovery percentage. The major challenges of EOR are the uncertainty of the additional oil recovery due to the lack of efficient EOR technologies and the cost associated with the project. The EOR process will be economically feasible only when the crude oil price remains on the higher side. In this chapter, the different economic models for EOR and the feasibility study have been discussed. The chapter also elaborates on a detailed economic analysis of chemical-enhanced oil recovery, in situ combustion project, and CO2 miscible flooding.
