ABSTRACT
More than two decades ago, iris recognition has evolved to fulfil the user demand. Iris template is started as an IrisCodes and become iris template. A lot of techniques and methods have been used and phases of generation in iris recognition brings new innovations and new creations for finding solutions for a better system. The iris template has been seen to be constantly change due to factors of occlusion, pupil size variation, emotion, health condition, eye surgery and aging. On the other hand, the vulnerability of biometric system allows for an opportunity for a hacker to attack the system. Therefore, the swarm inspired iris recognition is designed to overcome problem exist in first and second phase of the iris recognition. Even though swarm-based recognition has some limitations but the accuracy performance is promising.
