ABSTRACT
Current understanding of starch biosynthesis from ADPglucose includes (1) granule-bound starch synthase (GBSS) synthesizing amulose and (2) soluble starch synthases (SSs), branching enzymes (BEs) and isoamylase-type debranching enzymes (ISA), collectively synthesizing amylopectin.
