ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 introduces the robot hardware and software systems mentioned in this book. Robot hardware systems include common robots (i.e., Baxter robot, Nao robot, and KUKA LBR iiwa robot); Kinect camera, which is a low-priced RGB-D sensor; MYO Armband, which is a gesture recognition device worn on the forearm; Leap Motion, which can detect and track human hands motion. The introduction of the robot hardware systems includes the composition, important parameters, and functions. Besides, it shows the appearances and application fields of the robot hardware systems. Robot software systems are mainly robot simulation software, including MATLAB Robot Toolbox, CoppeliaSim, and Gazebo. We introduced the robot software system in terms of interface, function and characteristics, etc.
