ABSTRACT

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with minimal differentiation is an acute leukemia with no cytomorphologic or cytochemical evidence of myeloid differentiation [1]. Cytochemical staining for myeloperoxidase (MPO) or Sudan Black B (SBB) is negative (<3% blasts are positive). Myeloid differentiation is confirmed by immunophenotyping and by exclusion of all other acute leukemias as defined by World Health Organization (WHO).
