ABSTRACT

This chapter is titled as “Presenting Evidence at Trial,” but many of the concepts also apply to giving evidence before arbitral panels, regulatory bodies, or other resolution venues. A significant amount of the author's work has been performed outside the United States. The author was once asked to address a large group of lawyers from around the world on the topic of providing expert testimony in different countries. Of course, criminal and civil litigation systems can be very different depending on where the readers are giving expert testimony. Most of the concepts will apply in any venue in which the readers may be required to testify. The only differences will be the procedural, evidence and local rules with which they will be required to observe.
