ABSTRACT
The best thing the people can do is identify the people, tools, internal (e.g. head of compliance, head of security, general counsel, etc.) and external (e.g. law firm(s), forensic accounting firm, cyber consultants, etc.) they pull together when something happens. The vehicle manufacturer tried to recover the money lost to the CFO's scheme by filing a claim on one of their insurance policies. Unfortunately, that policy only provided coverage for employees who either violated laws or written company policies. The unfortunate reality was that written company policy allowed the president to sell vehicles at any price he chose to “meet competition in the local market.” The vehicle manufacturer's general counsel was livid.
