ABSTRACT

Creativity has been defined as the ability to generate novel and competitive ideas that have the potential to be useful. The support for (or absence of) creativity can impact the operating and collaborative environment in the workplace. The relationship works each way: a healthcare work environment that promotes creativity allows expression of different viewpoints and indicates a creative climate. Chapter 6 introduced mindset, creativity and learning as a linked set of concepts. The question arising from Chapter 6 is how to shape a creative climate and how to support it. In this chapter, we turn to the value of upskilling staff to be creative, and we explore how gamification can assist in achieving that outcome.
