ABSTRACT
This chapter calculates the n’th term of an Arithmetic progression (AP), the sum of n terms of an AP, the n’th term of a Geometric progression (GP), the sum of n terms of a GP and the sum to infinity of a GP. It understands and performs calculations with combinations and permutations. Number sequences are widely used in engineering applications including computer data structure and sorting algorithms, financial engineering, audio compression and architectural engineering. In fact, GPs are used throughout mathematics, and they have many important applications in the physics, the engineering, biology, economics, computer science, queuing theory and finance.
