ABSTRACT

This chapter comprises two major discussion parts that investigate the environmental impact results of all parameters linked with the greenhouse gas sources reduction credits in the Green Star rating tool mentioned in Chapter 3. The first part provides the discussion on the environmental impact of building envelopes in commercial buildings in a variety of geological zones in Australia, in order to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The second section examines the key materials often utilized in such a construction. These chapter parts are discussed in terms of the credit points options in Green Star that a green building can achieve. Then, the models’ parameters are discussed with other green building assessment tools, for example, LEED, BREEAM, etc., in order to compare how designers can achieve green certificate for their projects with other tools rather than the Green Star system.
