ABSTRACT
This chapter is a discussion on the Central Inverter Photovoltaic Configuration (CI-PVC), String Inverter Photovoltaic Configuration (SI-PVC), AC Module Photovoltaic Configuration (ACM-PVC), and Multi-String Inverter Photovoltaic Configuration (MSI-PVC)—all PV grid-connected power systems. We discuss the advantages and drawbacks of all the existing PV systems in details—discussion on maximum power point tracking algorithms used in PV applications—and the merits and demerits of each MPPT algorithm and conclusion with the review.
