ABSTRACT

Self‐balanced DC‐DC multistage converter without a magnetic component along with the MPPT algorithm is discussed—working states, equivalent ON state and OFF state circuit also presented. The effect of semiconductor losses and limits of voltage conversion ratio with the complete theoretical background and design equation, rating of components are elaborated. Comparison of configuration in terms of the number of semiconductor devices, capacitor, and voltage conversion ratio is detailed—prototype experimental and numerical simulation results are presented and practicability based on test results observed as a conclusion for converter selection for real‐time applications.
