ABSTRACT
With owner expectations placing emphasis on increasing quality and speed of project delivery while reducing cost, a growing industry consensus is that a collaborative delivery approach is the better path for improvements. This evidence-based approach is derived from Dr. DarConte’s doctoral work and 35 years of project experience. The chapter begins with a more comprehensive discussion of “Rapid Alignment Initiated DeliveryTM,” which was first introduced in Chapter 1. This collaborative approach builds on its six fundamental propositions:
Ethical behavior
Clearly defined goals and objectives
Sustained visible leadership
Demonstrated competencies and capabilities
Relationships and integrated teams
Equitable risk allocation
This is followed by how the model can be implemented in projects with virtually any project delivery method.
