ABSTRACT

The reader is being given the opportunity to develop his/her skills in working with other people through appropriate leadership skills and knowledge presented in this course, as well as the author's many years of experience with others. Management must exercise appropriate authority while encouraging good human relations. Supervisor/managers and middle managers have both authority and power; however it is the positive use of it which aids in control of programs and people to achieve appropriate objectives. Essentially, the emphasis of good human relations is the use of positive approaches to the function of supervision and management related to control. The use of appropriate systems of authority in a constructive manner which recognizes need for good human relations creates a positive environment where employees will be motivated to meet the goals and objectives of organization. Since people are not machines and each person differs individually, the techniques used to exercise proper control must be modified to meet situation and the individual.
