ABSTRACT

Commissioning is planned and executed as per systems and then subsystems. Commissioning is a successor activity to pre-commissioning. Typical commissioning activities (Level 3 tasks) under each subsystem are (1) solo run, (2) loop and function test, (3) operation leak test, (4) hot alignment, (5) operation test, (6) drying and inerting, (7) chemical loading, (8) hot oil filling, and (9) putting into service the utility systems such as air and nitrogen. Authorities inspect the Site. Operator’s training is accomplished. Vendor supervisors are mobilized at Site. Licensors’ representatives are mobilized at Site.

Start-up of Plant begins after putting into service: (1) fire water systems, (2) deluge systems, (3) fire protection systems, (4) air and nitrogen systems, (5) power systems, (6) water utilities systems, and (7) cathodic protection systems. Plant start-up sequence is described.

Performance test requires completing the Level 3 tasks such as gas feed-in process, load up and stabilization, function test, stable and normal operation, and performance test runs.
