ABSTRACT
As a standard practice, Owner requires Contractor to indemnify the former and his people from and against claims third parties or government departments during the execution of the project. Contractor can provide such indemnity through procurement of insurance policies. However, insurance cannot provide indemnity for those claims which arise out of noncompliance of law, infringement of intellectual property, and gross negligence/willful act.
