ABSTRACT
If the gas wells were found to produce a mixture of gas that does not meet the specification at the entry point of the central processing facility, then this situation would create bottlenecks leading to production loss and revenues. As the gas profile after drilling and rigless testing is bound to vary from design, the Owner should take measures to complete the drilling and rigless testing before commencement of DED by Contractor if not earlier, as the designed Plant have limitations to handle variation beyond a design margin. Flow assurance studies can help in finding remedial measures but implementing such measures requires shutdown of commissioned Plant and re-design and replacement of installed pipelines, which consequently increases the Project Cost and Construction period.
