ABSTRACT
Tensile tests of weld specimens are carried out in the laboratory to measure the weld strength available from a particular welding procedure. The yield strength is found out.
Compressive strength of concrete is carried out in a laboratory for concrete cubes of a certain mix. The testing is done after 48 days of curing. For any three consecutive failures of a specimen, the Contractor loses 3 months. Hence, the Contractor begins the testing at least 5 months before the start of the first concrete pour.
