ABSTRACT

Contractor keeps in place a Logistics Management and Storage Plan, which describes the salient features related to this topic. It mainly focuses on the heavy/oversized cargoes and sensitive equipment and instruments. Transportation is from FOB to Site, and this is task Contractor’s responsibility. Ninety days is generally considered for this transportation in Level 3, but however, this reduces if the FOB location is closer to the Site.

The tasks of transportation is identified for cargoes under each discipline: (1) Rotating, (2) Stationary, (3) Electrical, (4) Telecommunication, (5) Instrument, (6) Structural Steel, (7) Piping, (8) HVAC, (9) Fire-fighting, and (10) Pipelines. Finally, for managing the receipt, storage, inspection, and identification of each cargo upon its arrival to Site, one task is allocated in the Level 3 Schedule.
