ABSTRACT
This chapter presents various aspects of oil and gas industry equipment reliability. It covers optical connector failures, mechanical seals’ failures, corrosion-related failures, fatigue damage initiation assessment in oil and gas steel pipes, oil and gas pipeline fault tree analysis, common cause failures defense approach for oil and gas industry safety instrumented systems, and problems.
There are ten problems at the end of the chapter to test the reader’s comprehension in the area and the sources of most of the material presented in the chapter are given in reference section. They will be useful to readers if they desire to delve more deeply into a specific area.
