ABSTRACT

A simulation experiment can prove to be a useful ground for providing the necessary skills in a very broad sense: from a problem statement, through problem analysis, mathematical and simulation modelling to conducting a research experiment and interpretation of the results. The assumed approach to modelling the process of acquiring competencies can be depicted as a set of three components: the model of defining competencies, the motivation model and the simulation model. The development of an IT system in the field of education has led to the creation of a new type of educational organisation based on an open distance learning system. The purpose of the IT system is to implement or support the functions of an integrated model of the learning management process. The management object in the corporate network is the information stream, while in the production chain; the management object is the workflow.
