ABSTRACT

Methods and equations of kinematics and dynamics of rigid and flexible bodies are general and can be applied to model any mechanical system, including ground vehicles. The very beginning of theoretical investigations started in the first part of the 19th century. Ackermann steering is a great example of a corner stone of today's vehicle dynamics. Similar results were achieved in the last quarter on the 19th century by Jeantaud (known as “Jeantaud diagram” or “Jeantaud four-bar-linkage”).
