ABSTRACT

The overall objective of this book was to develop an employability framework for built environment graduates. In achieving this objective, South Africa was adopted as a case study. To achieve this overarching objective, this study adopted a two-stage Delphi study (qualitative approach). For the Delphi study, 14 experts completed a two-stage process. Using a five-factor criterion, these experts from both academia and industry identified 230 measured variables. Data obtained through the Delphi process assisted in validating the various dimensions (main and sub-dimensions) that contribute to the employability of built environment graduates which ultimately results in the employability framework. This chapter also highlights the value of this book to the wider scope of the employability discussion.
