ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVES FOR THIS CHAPTER
To discuss the design, purpose, and function of treatment devices used in neonatology and in various applications involving skin, bones, and muscles.
Neonatology devices include bilirubin therapy units, infant incubators and resuscitators, and nitrous oxide (N2O) units for use during labor.
Other devices examined in this chapter include electrosurgery units, surgical lasers, cryosurgery units, operating microscopes, equipment sterilizers, and a range of physiotherapy machines.
