ABSTRACT

The natural constituent in a feed ingredient producing adverse effects on feed intake, digestibility, absorption and assimilation are anti-nutritional factors. Different kinds of anti-nutritional constituents of the various feedstuffs and also the adulterants of feeds like mixing of argemone seeds with rape sees-mustard have been identified and listed in Table. Deleterious effects of different anti-nutritional factors on the health and production of poultry birds need attention during selection of feeds and formulation of compounded diets. In order to improve the nutritive and feeding values of feed ingredients various methods have been developed and standardized for practical uses by the poultry farmers and commercial feed manufacturing companies.
