ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a glimpse into several new technologies in the data center field, including the container, hybrid cloud, and artificial intelligence fabric technologies. Container technology is an Operating System (OS) virtualization technology that provides an isolated OS environment based on the shared OS kernel of a host. Container technology is developed in two phases: standalone container and container cluster. The Kubernetes community defines basic principles for direct Internet Protocol access between Pods in a cluster and between Pods and hosts. It clearly defines east-west network requirements, without defining specific network solutions. Huawei software-defined networking container network solutions include: network overlay solution, network overlay extension solution, and hybrid overlay solution. A public cloud is a cloud computing infrastructure built by cloud service providers to provide users with pay-per-use compute, storage, and network resources. The hybrid cloud network solutions provided by public cloud providers fall into one of two types: Virtual Private Network and leased line.
