ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on Huawei multi-Data Center (DC) solution, which comprises multi-site and multi-point of delivery solutions. It discusses the design and technical principles of the physical network (underlay network) and logical network (overlay network) on a single Data Center Network. In the cloud DC, network resources are virtualized into resource pools to decouple services from physical networks. The chapter explains the detailed design of the multi-site solution, as well as the application scenario, detailed design, and recommended deployment of the multi-site solution. In the network solution, an independent Virtual eXtensible Local Area Network (VXLAN) domain is deployed in each DC and is managed by an SDN controller. The logical network of a DC serves VMs, and associates compute and network resources through the software-defined networking controller. The chapter illustrates how to enable Layer 2 and Layer 3 communication based on three-segment VXLAN for logical network interconnection.
