ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the Program Life Cycle Management and the high-level tasks and activities that program managers should tackle pertaining to this performance domain. It discusses the most important questions that program managers should ask pertaining to this domain. The chapter also describes the key Program Life Cycle Management Skills. The goal of the Program Life Cycle Management performance domain is to manage the program from start to finish. The program life cycle is similar with the project life cycle, and the only real differences is that the program involves multiple components and each of the components have a life cycle within the larger program structure. The program life cycle can be defined as the series of different stages involved throughout the life of a program from its inception to completion. The program life cycle is quite similar to the project life cycle.
