ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the missing link in the interpretation of the concepts developed so far has been discussed in detail. The procedure to find the force and moment resultants from the given reference surface strains and curvatures, and vice versa, has been explained with the help of suitable examples. The laminate stiffness matrix, also called the ABD matrix, has been developed for several laminates. In the end, a brief classification of laminates has been done. The effect of the type of laminate on the ABD matrix has also been discussed.
