ABSTRACT
This Chapter discusses the importance of checking data before carrying out any analysis.
Practical advice is given on checking the accuracy of data that have been entered as well as checking and dealing with missing data and outliers.
A section is also included explaining methods for checking whether data are normally distributed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests, Shapiro-Wilk tests and Q-Q plots.
