ABSTRACT
Means, medians and modes are measures of the ‘middle’ of a group of values – that is, central or ‘average’ values which may be in some way typical of the group.
These three methods are presented.
Methods of calculation are given using examples, and interpretation is discussed.
The strengths and limitations of each method are also explained.
