ABSTRACT

The security guards can cover the facility around the clock, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, or they can cover the facility at night and on weekends. A sophisticated intruder may try to jam the signals of the guard force radios to assist in delaying the guards. Usually guard radios have multiple channels allowing different types of communications on different channels. Radios have become quite sophisticated and can be carried on the hip with a headset for hands free communications or the radio can be carried with a hand mike that is clipped to the shoulder. In addition to radios, communications with guards and between guards can be conducted by telephone. Many private security guard forces now provide the guards with cellular telephones that allow the guard to communicate with their counterparts and with clients or customers. The uniform shows that the individual is part of an organization of more than one person.
