ABSTRACT

In HVAC applications demanding precise environmental control of the spaces served, humidification and dehumidification are often specified. The simplest of humidification applications are those requiring two-position control of the steam valve. For air handlers bringing in 100 percent outside air, humidification is typically implemented as a means of conditioning the outside air. In duct humidification systems, it is important that the duct humidifier be disabled when the upstream supply fan is not running, for the obvious reasons. Steam-generating humidifiers are packaged, microprocessor controlled equipment. A microprocessor-based control system supervises all facets of humidifier operation. The drain/flush/fill cycle is standard operating procedure of any packaged steam-generating humidifier.
