ABSTRACT

Computer room style air conditioning units are packaged equipment designed for demanding applications. An air cooled computer room A/C system is classified as a split system, because the refrigeration cycle is not contained in one single piece of equipment, but is broken down into indoor and outdoor equipment. Microprocessor-based A/C units generally offer dry contact outputs that can be configured to close upon user definable alarm conditions. Tower water systems are systems in which often not one but many pieces of water cooled equipment are served by a common cooling tower. A typical condenser water system can serve many pieces of water cooled equipment. The heat-rejecting unit is referred to as a drycooler or a fluid cooler, depending on the manufacturer.
