ABSTRACT
As the price of petroleum fuels emerges with that of alternate energy sources, new power systems will become more widely used. Synthetic fuels could be used directly in engines or to generate electricity from fuel cells for electric motors. A renewable future could take many paths. Before our present oil economy, gasoline and other fuels were originally available in small amounts often from hand pumps.
